Three very important shoes!

First of all, I must state that I absolutely loove shoes!! High heels are my fashion weakness, FOR SURE! A while ago I just wanted to buy sky high heels and imagined myself going to all these super glamorous events, wearing my super glamorous shoes. Except that I don't live in Hollywood and I'm not a movie superstar, so I don't have red carpets to walk through wearing super glamorous shoes.. Soo, when I go to my parties, or even when I go out with friends, I don't like to wear my super tall shoes, because I feel tooo tall next to everyone. I am already tall and when I put on high heels I get even taller, obviously. So I figured I should stop buying sky high heels and start buying normal high heels; shoes that I could wear at night and also during the day. Elegant, classic and versatile shoes! Those that you can wear with anything and everywhere! Looking at my shoes, I realized that we only need 3 high heels! I know, I know, shoes are amazing and we all love having lots of them, but we really only need 3: a black one, a nude one and a burgundy one!

 

                                           BLACK HIGH HEELS

Black pumps are an essential item! Nowadays, you can go basically anywhere with a black pump, from the mall to formal parties! They can be worn during summer, with floral dresses, or winter, with black tights, for example. I personally love wearing high heels with tights.. I just think it looks so elegant!

Miranda Kerr and Kim Kardashian show us how to wear black pumps with a more casual style.. Miranda has on a leather skirt and a basic white tee, while Kim has on skinnies and a blazer!

Ashley Tisdale wore this look to the New York Fashion Week and took a risk here. She obviously loves to dress up and has fun doing it, but I'm not quite sure I love this outfit. I mean, I like it, but woudn't wear it. Nonetheless, her black pumps are fantastic! They are Brian Atwoods, I think!

Olivia Palermo paired her black shoes with black skinnies, a stylish trench coat and a clutch, creating an elegant, but still kind of casual look.

I just love this outfit of hers! She wore it a while back, but I still love it! This is a more formal look, for work maybe! A cute blouse, skinny jeans and a blazer make the outfit flawless!

Another formal look worn by Olivia is this one, on the left! She paired her heels with a simple but still very elegant black dress. However, her best accessory here is her super handsome boyfriend, of course! On the right, Olivia paired her pumps with tights creating the illusion of having very long legs, because the black shoes match the black tights.

Jessica Alba wore a black sequine dress on the red carpet with black tights!

Kourtney and Kim Kardashian are always an inspiration when it comes to clothes and these pictures show us why.. Both of them wore black pumps with dressier looks and they looked amazing!

 

On the red carpet, Kim Kardashian and Megan Fox wore black heels with cutout dresses which gave their outfits an edgier look.

Last but not least, one of my favorite looks: chic, elegant, easy and simple! Black dress + black Yves Saint Laurent heels = score!! Her many bangles add up to the outfit, making it even more chic!

    NUDE HIGH HEELS 

Since Christian Louboutin created the nude pumps, they became a must-have in every girl/woman's wardrobe! They go with absolutely everything, because they are the same shade as your skin, creating the illusion of having long legs! Very flattering shoes, they are worth the investment!

I think the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, is the very best example of how often and well a nude pump may be used!

(FYI, the ones she wears all the time are from the brand "LK Bennett".)

 Khloe Kardashian has on nude Louboutin heels which made her legs look longer and slimmer, a great trick for those who are looking for this effect!

Blake Lively paired her nude heels with a flowy skirt and a very cute pink Chanel purse, making her outfit effortlessly elegant!

BURGUNDY HIGH HEELS

Burgundy heels are statement shoes because of their color! Different, beautiful and elegant, they go very well with black, brown, grey and specially navy blue! They give a pop of color to the outfit, but still kep it chic and neutral, since dark burgundy is very much alike brown (also neutral).

Blake Lively was probably filming for Gossip Girl when she wore these amazing Brian Atwood heels. Paired with neutral colored clothes, the burgundy pumps gave her outfit an interesting twist!

I am not quite sure why Victoria Beckham is on a swing, but the main focus here are her gorgeous shoes by Christian Louboutin! Paired with grey (love this combination) her outfit is very elegant, as usual!

Nicole Richie wore a very light colored dress paired with her burgundy Louboutin heels; an interesting choice, since everyone always seems to choose a black or nude shoe, over the colorfull one. I wouldn't say burgundy is a color that pops out, but it is a pop of color when paired with neutral outfits!

Bottom line, high heels are amazing and there will always be incredible new shoes in stores, but we do really only need these three! Black goes with almost everything.. I don't really like black with brown or with navy blue, but lots of people do! So for me, my black shoes are worn with black (obviously), white, light and dark grey, pink, caramel (love this color!) and light blue, while my nude shoes can be worn with everything, honestly! My burgundy shoes are paired with black, grey, brown and navy blue. The dark colors that (in my opinion) cannot be paired with black shoes, are paired with the burgundy ones!

GREAT TIP!!!! (GESSO EYESHADOW)

So I was coming home from the mall where I had just bought a new concealer and wanted to try it out, when I started thinking about makeup and the items I have in my collection. I realized that there was one eyeshadow that I had never used, because I just didn't know how! That eyeshadow is "Gesso", from MAC. I got it a while ago, together with "Carbon", which is just the most amazing black eyeshadow ever.. highly pigmented and lasts forever! At the time, I bought "gesso" because I wanted a highlight color, and in my mind, that was the perfect one. I later discovered that a highlighter is prettiest when it has a little shimmer to it. Sooo, I put it aside and never used it.

Today I had the most amazing idea!! Since I don't like shimmery makeup during the day, and I do like the idea of highlighting the brow bone and the under eye area, I thought that maybe I could use the eyeshadow as a highlighter! The result?! AMAZING! It lightens up the eyes and gives your makeup a little something extra! A beautiful highlighter color to use during the day, for those girls, like me, who don't like to much glitter during daylight!

However, this eyeshadow can only be used for this purpose if you have fair skin. I have very fair skin. For example, my concealer and studio-fix are both NW15 (pretty fair, I know), so that's why the color "gesso" works out fine as a highlighter. If you have darker skin, I wouldn't recommend it, because then it would look a bit weird, since the eyeshadow is basically white. The product can also set the concealer, since it is a little powder that is put over it.

I just thought this was a great different use for an eyeshadow, and figured I could share it with other girls that love makeup, just like I do! Makeup is something very interesting and even a teeny tiny detail, like a highlighter, makes a great difference! The final makeup look is composed by little beautiful details!!

Denim Shirts! Everyone's wearing them, what are you waiting for?!

After writing about button down shirts, I figured I should write about another type of shirt that I absolutely love!! Denim Shirts!! Cool, casual and amazing, they are my new favorite style of button downs!

Starting with Brazilian blogger, Thassia Naves. This girl sure knows how to dress up a denim shirt! Take a look:

Denim shirt with patterned pants and a clutch that gave the outfit a pop of color! 

Cute ouftit: denim shirt with green chamois short shorts. The bag matches the belt and the overall production looks very nice!

Another Brazilian blogger that I really like is Nati Vozza! Take a look at her outfits:

Here she paired a light denim shirt with a black peplum style skirt and a black leather jacket that is shaped like a blazer! With a Givenchy handbag and Charlotte Olympia heels, her outfit is flawless!

Denim Shirt + Maxi Skirt = Awesome!!

Again with the maxi skirt! They go soo well together!! The fringe bag gave her outfit a boho style!

Now with what appears to be a maxi dress, the light boyfriend style denim shirt contrasts with the black color and pops out, making the outfit very interesting!

This is one of my favorite outfits worn by Vanessa Hudgens! The floppy hat and oversized shirt give it a boho style and made it amazing! The belt defined her waist, making the shirt more feminine. I just love this look!!

Miley Cyrus rocked her denim shirt by pairing it with a floral dress and black boots! Unconventional outfit, but still, it looked amazing!

Here Selena Gomez wore a light wash denim shirt with a patterned skirt! Different from Miley's outfit, Selena chose to make her outfit more ladylike, pairing it with high heels, instead of boots.

Kourtney Kardashian, always very cool, put her outfit together with some interesting choices! Black leggings, fringe boots and a white tee went really well with her denim shirt! The handbag was in charge of giving her outfit a pop of color, and it sure did!

Last but not least, there is the "denim on denim" trend..

I think the most important thing to know is that you can wear denim on denim, but the pieces have to be in a different wash! So these pictures show exactly what can be done when wearing denim on denim: A lighter shirt with darker pants, or vice-versa!

Even David Beckham is wearing denim shirts!! Hahahha

Button Down Shirts: From formal to normal!

Button Down Shirts have become really trendy nowadays! You can pretty much wear a button down shirt anywhere! It used to be considered something really formal, something a woman would only wear to work or formal events. Today, we see women wearing shirts everywhere, at day and at night, and in the most different, cool, casual ways! I absolutely love this new "trend" (if I may call it that)!
Let's see how our favorite celebrities are wearing their button down shirts!!

So first, we have the formal look; something we are used to. Emmanuelle Chriqui paired her shirt with beautiful neutral pants, which made her look very elegant.

Here we have another formal look. I really like this one; the purse matches the belt and heels, and the overall look turned out amazing. Effortless and very put together!

With leather pants and black pumps, Miranda Kerr dressed herself in black&white and went out absolutely gorgeous! I would say she looks formal, but with an edgier vibe, because of the leather pants!

In a transition from formal to "cool formal", we have Rachel Bilson who wore a floral shirt (gorgeous) with hot red pants and cute shoes, animal print I think.. See how, even though she mixed two patterns, her outfit looks very elegant and balanced.

Three examples of girls wearing amazing oufits, with button down shirts! None of them look too formal, but they all look very elegant, in their own way! From mini skirts, to maxi skirts, to skinny pants, button down shirts go with everything and these pictures prove it!

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore her white shirt casually; with shorts and ankle boots, she went to this year's Coachella Festival, proving once more, that button down shirts may be used with everything and everywhere!

Now, pairing button down shirts with maxi skirts just takes the outfit to a whole new level!! I love it!! Very veryy elegant, but also cool, these outfits look amazing! Jessica Alba put a cute little belt right where the skirt hits her waist, which gave her look something extra! Kourtney Kardashian, rocking a black&white look, kept it simple, but always cool! She paired a formal white shirt with a black maxi skirt and sky high Louboutin heels. Beautiful!


What I have also been seeing a lot lately are sheer button down shirts!

Miranda Kerr nailed it in my opinion! With nude heels and skinny jeans, her shirt goes really well with the outfit. Simple, elegant and cool!

Miranda Kerr again.. sorry! She just knows how to put a great outfit together! She always looks so basic, but at the same time, very well dressed! A not too sheer white shirt complemented the outfit!
